FSU Scholars Recognized in Leading Research Journal

The most recent issue of Real Estate Economics (v. 37:4, 2009) reports that C.F. Sirmans, the J. Harold and Barbara M. Chastain Eminent Scholar Chair in Real Estate at FSU, was the journal's most prolific research author from 1973 to 2008 (its entire publication period), as well as during the 1990-99 and 2000-08 periods.  Real Estate Economics is widely regarded as one of the discipline's most prestigious academic research journals.

An article co-authored by Dean Gatzlaff, the Mark C. Bane Professor (with J. Fisher, University of Indiana; D. Geltner, MIT; and D. Haurin, Ohio State University) was reported in Real Estate Economics (v. 37:4, 2009) to be the most widely cited article during the most recent three-year period reported.  The article, titled "Controlling for the Impact of Variable Liquidity in Commercial Real Estate Price Indices" (REE, v. 31:2, 2003), works to develop better benchmarks for tracking movements in commercial property values.
